Good morning Bitachon of the day ❤
Evil and good are more intertwined than we might think. Evil arises when we take the very energy that is meant to bring goodness into the world and use it in the wrong way. Take ambition, for instance. When used positively, ambition drives us to grow, achieve, and bring value to others. But when directed poorly, this same drive can lead to selfishness, greed, and even harm to others. Properly channeled, ambition is a force that can connect us with Hashem by helping us reach our potential and contribute to His creation. However, when it becomes self-centered, we lose sight of our higher purpose and miss the opportunity to align with Hashem’s will. Instead, we become trapped in our own egos, disconnected from the deeper meaning that comes from serving something greater than ourselves.
The Torah teaches us so many examples of ambition directed both for good and evil. Yosef had dreams of leadership, and though his ambition initially stirred jealousy, he used his talents to fulfill Hashem’s plan, ultimately saving his family and many others. In contrast, Korach’s ambition was rooted in selfishness; he sought power for himself and rebelled against Hashem’s chosen leaders, leading to his downfall. These stories show how ambition, when aligned with Hashem’s will, brings blessing, but when driven by pride, it leads to destruction.
Even when surrounded by hostility and challenges, Israel’s unwavering choice is to act with goodness, a truth that the world often overlooks. Israel welcomes Arab citizens into their schools, workplaces, and hospitals, where people of all backgrounds are treated with dignity. In the face of hatred, Israel chooses humanity, compassion, and healing.
For centuries, Jews have endured relentless persecution. We could respond with bitterness or anger, but instead, we choose chesed (kindness) and a deep, abiding love for Hashem and all people. This choice is rooted in our faith, in Hashem’s laws, and in the Torah’s teachings, which anchor us to a higher purpose. Without Hashem, a home lacks true values; it becomes a place of fleeting, hollow pursuits.
Though I grew up without a religious foundation, I now teach my children to love Hashem deeply and to build their lives around faith. We’ve raised them to love learning and to understand that nothing is truly ours, it is all from Hashem. In prayer, with unwavering bitachon (trust) and emunah (faith), we know our circumstances can change, and miracles can unfold. Yet, above all, we trust that everything rests in Hashem’s hands.
It’s this faith that gives us strength, guiding us to choose goodness and compassion, even when others may not understand. Through these choices, we reflect Hashem’s love and bring His presence closer to the world.
May we all choose to follow the path of Hashem, for only through His guidance can we overcome the challenges we face in this world. May we always choose goodness, for only goodness brings light and life, while evil leads to destruction. Amen 🙏
Wishing you all a wonderful day ❤
