Good morning Bitachon of the day ❤️
The greatest act of chessed (kindness) is to empower someone with independence—to help them move beyond reliance and dependency, allowing them to spread their wings and thrive on their own. This is the chessed that Hashem bestows upon us. He grants us the freedom to choose, enabling us to earn our own reward. We are not simply handed our rewards; we earn them through our choices, moral victories, and the ongoing struggle to grow and improve ourselves.
This principle also applies to parenting. One of the most challenging aspects of being a parent is learning to let go, allowing your child to blossom and flourish on their own. True independence is what ultimately enables children to discover who they truly are. Similarly, the greatest teachers are those who don’t create dependent students but rather foster independent thinkers who continue to grow long after they leave the classroom.
Growing up, my parents had both fled their homeland, leaving everything behind in a matter of moments. They taught me to do the same, to be resilient and self-reliant. They never handed me anything easily, even from a young age. They expected me to stand on my own two feet, prepared for the possibility that we might have to start over again at any moment.
Their fear was always in the back of their minds, and they wanted to ensure that we, their children, would be ready if that day ever came. From a young age, I worked any job I could find while attending school, both at home and abroad. I resented them during my childhood, but today, I am profoundly grateful for the lessons they imparted. They shaped me into the person I am today, someone who knows that every achievement is the result of my own drive, decisions, and hard-won lessons.
Hashem grants us the choice, to excel, reach new heights, or remain stagnant. He gives us all the tools we need to make the right decisions, but it is up to us to decide how to use those tools and what path to take.
May we all strive to become our best selves and embrace the gift of chessed that Hashem has bestowed upon us. Amen🙏
Wishing you all a wonderful day ❤️
