Good morning Bitachon of the day ❤️
The same letters that form the word b’simchah (with happiness) also make up the word machshavah (thought). This connection highlights how your thoughts, mindset, and attitude significantly impact your internal state of being. No matter how much you are growing and achieving, without the right attitude and mindset, you will not find true happiness.
As simple as it sounds, deciding to be happy is one of the most effective strategies for achieving happiness. We all know people who wait for something great to happen to them, believing that only then will they be happy. However, proactively deciding to be happy can fundamentally change your perception of happiness.
When we visited wounded soldiers at the hospital, they were so happy to see us. They were grateful for the opportunity to share their stories and impart life lessons. One soldier told my son to always be grateful for his parents, reminding him that no matter what happens, they will always be by his side. Another soldier emphasized the importance of thanking Hashem for each new day, particularly through the morning prayer Mode Ani. Despite the soldiers' sad and painful experiences, they expressed immense gratitude for being alive and able to share their stories. They spoke of the friends they lost but never lost their faith or their smiles. They fought with their minds to remain happy and to see a future.
Some of these soldiers had been in the hospital for over seven months, yet they still dream of a future filled with happiness and a life of their own. They were proud to have been on the front lines defending our country. Witnessing their resilience and positivity, despite the emotional trauma, physical pain, and tragic loss of their friends and loved ones, makes it difficult for us to complain about our lives.
We live in relative comfort, surrounded by family and friends, and without the threat of war. Yet we sometimes doubt Hashem’s existence and struggle to find happiness and envision a future. These soldiers, who have survived so much, are true inspirations. They share their beautiful, inspiring words with the world, reminding us that life is not always easy or perfect; it depends on how we perceive it.
The soldiers taught me an important life lesson: be thankful for each new day and make it the best day possible. Set aside the nonsense that your mind creates and focus on being grateful and thankful. Remember that every day that Hashem gives you is a huge gift.
May our minds and souls focus only on good things, and may we thank Hashem for giving us another day to be happy. Amen 🙏
Wishing you all a wonderful Shabbat ❤️
