Good morning Bitachon of the day ❤️
Many people believe that before Hashem created the world, there was simply nothing. On the contrary, until Hashem created the world, there was only Hashem Himself. As the Arizal, Ramchal, and others explain, Hashem created the world by making a makom, a space, within Himself.
To create the physical world, Hashem made space within Himself for us to exist. We exist within Hashem, so to speak; He is our makom.
Makom is a meaningful word in Hebrew that holds multiple layers of significance. It can refer to a physical place, as well as a spiritual place or a space where Jewish activity and exploration of Judaism and Jewish values take place.
As I explore the concept of a Makom, I recognize that we've each created a Makom within our families, both physically and spiritually. We strive to construct homes where Hashem is welcomed and comfortable. We teach our children to be Hashem's children, to be mensches, to respect others, and to always feel Hashem's presence. Just as Hashem has made room in His heart for us, we should make room to live with Hashem in our hearts.
When I was welcomed into my family in Brooklyn, I felt Hashem's presence with us constantly. The extraordinary spiritual connection they share radiates to everyone around them.
BH, their family has grown immensely today, their Bitachon and Emunah is so strong that they live and breathe only for Hashem. It is my happy place, it is my Makom, I aspire that my home will BH feel the same one day and be at the same level.
Hashem has also given us Israel, the Holy Land, which holds great importance in Jewish tradition and history. Considered a Makom, Israel is a place where Jewish life flourishes, where the desert blooms, purified water flows, and fruits and vegetables abound. Additionally, Israel has emerged as a hub of innovation, home to numerous successful start-ups and companies. Its vibrant society is made up of Jewish immigrants from various backgrounds worldwide, enhancing the richness and strength of the Jewish community in Israel. It is truly remarkable how Hashem's gift of Israel has provided a Makom for Jews to thrive, develop, and contribute to the world in many fields.
Each time we pray, we express our fervent hopes for the year ahead in Israel, BH. Currently, my daughter and her friends are spending a year there, and the thought of returning to America is quite challenging for them. They have fallen in love with Israeli culture, surrounded by fellow Jews, and the easy access to kosher food has facilitated their Jewish lifestyle. In this welcoming environment, free from persecution and antisemitism, they feel truly liberated.
This multicultural experience not only broadens their perspectives but also deepens their connection to their Jewish heritage.
When we come together as one and hold Hashem in our hearts, we build our own Makom. In doing so, we strengthen our presence in Hashem’s heart, enabling us to survive and thrive stronger than ever before.
May Hashem grow in our hearts and be part of us, just as we are part of Him. Amen 🙏
Wishing you all a wonderful day ❤️
