Good morning Bitachon of the day ❤️

As I searched for inspiration for my Bitachon of the day, I stumbled upon a story that moved me to tears. It felt important to share this poignant narrative.

“ After a long day of work, all he wanted to do was relax, but his son came running into his study with way too much energy for him to handle. “Daddy, can I ask you a question?”

“Sure,” he sighed. “What is it?”

“How much do you make an hour?” “That’s none of your business. Why are you asking?” “I just want to know. Please can you tell me?”

“If you must know, I make $300 an hour,” he snapped. “Oh!” The little boy’s face fell, and he paused for a moment. Then he asked, “Daddy, may I please borrow $250?” The father was furious. “If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard every day, and I don’t have time for this childish behavior.” The little boy went to his room with his head hanging and shut the door.

The man sat down and began to feel even angrier about the little boy’s question. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour, though, he calmed down, and started to think. Maybe there was something his son really needed to buy with that $250. After all, he didn’t ask for money very often. The man went to his little boy’s room and opened the door. “Are you asleep, son?” “No, Daddy, I’m awake.” “I’ve been thinking. Maybe I was too hard on you earlier. It’s been a long day, and I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the $250 you asked for.”

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. “Oh, thank you Daddy!” Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled bills. The man saw that the boy already had money,  so he was    a bit confused. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father. “Daddy, I have $300 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Would you please come home early tomorrow? I would like to play with you.” The father felt like he had been hit by a ton of bricks. Holding back tears, he slowly put his arm around his son. “Keep the money. Tomorrow I’ll be home two hours early to play.”

As he walked away, he promised himself that from now on, his son would never feel this way again.”

This story rings true for many of us, we're constantly moving at a fast pace, striving to do more, often neglecting quality time with family and friends due to our busy schedules. After reading this story, it prompts reflection: "Was I truly there for my children when they needed me most?"

Hashem is always here for us, hearing our prayers throughout the day. Just as we ask for Hashem's help, we should also prioritize being there for our families, not waiting until it's too late. Reflecting on my own upbringing, where my parents worked tirelessly and I don't recall much quality time with them, I made a commitment to myself to spend as much time as possible with my own children.

We often find ourselves with somewhere to be or something to do, but our children, husband, or wife should always be our number one priority, just as Hashem is with us.

May we strive to prioritize spending time with our family and emulate Hashem's constant presence with our loved ones. Amen. 🙏

Wishing you all a wonderful day ❤️
