Good morning ❤️
The Sages in Pirkei Avos (4:1) define the honorable person “Someone who shows honor and respect to other people”
They are teaching us that’s not how other people treat you that makes you important and honorable. Rather it’s how you treat others.
By being respectful to other human beings, you add to your self respect. You recognize that when you treat others with respect you are expressing respect to Hashem.
The first thing I taught my kids was to respect everyone around them. For me, it was one of the most important lesson I could give my children. It didn't matter who was talking to them, from their social class to the color of their skin.
I always emphasized that we are all the same. With two eyes, two ears, one nose, and one mouth, I encouraged them to respect and treat everyone equally.
Today, I can proudly say that my kids have learned and understood it, BH!
They can engage in conversations with anyone around them, discussing anything they desire, regardless of the person's status. They make them feel comfortable and welcome.
Making humility and respect a top priority is essential in life.
This way, you will become more aware of the potential in each person and understand that they can continue to further develop themselves.
When you treat others with authentic respect, you positively influence their self-image. We are all created in the image of Hashem; we are all the same.
We shouldn't perceive any differences among us. When kindness prevails, life becomes much easier and more joyful to live.
Arrogance can impede personal growth and damage relationships.
It hinders your ability to be close to Hashem.
Moreover, it creates a barrier between you and Hashem, hindering your ability to connect deeply.
It prevents you from praying with your whole heart and learning with genuine passion.
May we all learn to remain humble and respect others, striving to better serve Hashem. Amen. 🙏
Wish you all a wonderful day 🧡
