Good Morning and Shavuatov đ
When we taste food, we take the object that started outside of us and place it inside. We chew it and swallow it. It goes to our digestive system to nurture all the cells in our body. The food that was outside is not only inside us, but actually becomes us.
It is integrated into our very being.
This is a metaphor for understanding the goodness of Hashem. When we gain a deep understanding of the power and might of Hashem and how He has create us and our entire world, we experience the goodness of Hashem in a way that could be considered âtastingâ. It becomes an integral part of who we are.
Hashem is the ultimate good and the source of all good. We connect to Hashem and His goodness by emulating him.
The good that we do in our lives is the highest form of greatness that a human being.
Growing up in an environment tainted by antisemitism, I struggled with my Jewish identity, questioning why I was different from those around me. These thoughts haunted my teenage years until I arrived in America and encountered many who shared my religion, which provided solace to my soul.
Embracing my faith, I delved into studying and adopting a kosher lifestyle, seeking knowledge through classes and personal exploration. As I drew closer to Hashem, I began to witness more of His miracles in my life.
A chance encounter during a manicure session led to a conversation in Spanish with the manicurist. This sparked an interaction with someone seating next to me who played Jewish geography upon learning my name, Rabbanit Benchimol. Our weekly learning sessions commenced fourteen years ago, and she became my guiding mentor, supporting me through life's highs and lows.
Even in the mundane setting of a manicure place, I discovered the presence of Hashem. Rabbanit Benchimol nurtured in me a profound love for Hashem, even amidst difficult times. Her arrival in my life felt divinely orchestrated, a messenger from Hashem. Her kind words, immense love for Hashem, and relatable approach resonated deeply within me, awakening my soul.Â
I aspire to follow her example one day and touch others' lives in the same way. Amen đ
Wish you all a wonderful day â¤ď¸
