Good morning Bitachon of the day ❤️

Everything in this world is merely potential, waiting to be used. Evil, therefore, is the misuse of potential, when we choose to use an object for something other than its true purpose. Evil is the breakdown and corruption of good. This is why the Hebrew word for evil is ra, which means brokenness or fragmentation.

Hashem created the world in this way so that human beings can have free will. We get to choose whether to use things for their true purpose, actualizing their potential, or to misuse them, getting pulled into the clutches of evil.

Today, with everything at our fingertips, it's essential to recognize that when used inappropriately, it can cause harm to others.

At the age of 15, one of my daughters made the decision to remove every social media platform from her phone. She found that it was consuming her time and making her feel bad about herself. Social media often presents a modified version of reality, leading individuals to believe that others lead perfect lives and have flawless appearances. Despite my attempts to reassure her that much of what is portrayed on social media is not genuine, she couldn't help but feel inadequate in comparison.

One time, I saw a post from a friend who appeared to be enjoying a beautiful beach vacation with her family, despite knowing she was going through a difficult time. I immediately reached out to express my happiness for her, only to discover that she wished the picture reflected reality. In truth, the entire vacation had been a total nightmare for her.

It's a stark reminder that pictures or posts often don't reflect reality, yet we are all drawn to them. Hashem encourages us to focus on Mitzvahs, prayer, learning, and productive work, so we don't waste time on such trivialities. In doing so, Hashem helps us overcome our yetzer hara (evil inclination).

Everything in our world holds potential, capable of being used for good or for evil. Hashem designed the world so that humans possess free will, enabling them to choose whether to use things for their intended purpose, thereby actualizing their potential, or to misuse them, falling into the clutches of evil.

May we all learn to use our tools for good, and may we dedicate ourselves to as many Mitzvot as possible. Amen 🙏

Wishing you a wonderful day ❤️
