Shavuatov Bitachon of the day ❤️
One of the most daunting but worthwhile exercises you can perform is the “want exercise.” It requires you to ask yourself, “What do I want in life?” Be completely honest with yourself. Keep doing this until you get to something that you want for no external reason, something that you want simply because you want it. According to Jewish thought, the underlying want (ratzon) within each of us is to fulfill our unique purpose in life, to actualize our potential, to live the life we are meant to live. Essentially, our deepest ratzon is to fulfill the ratzon of Hashem.
At 15, my mom brought me to New York for a week, and I cherished every single day. It felt like I had lived here in a previous life. I confidently told her, "When I'm older, I will be living in NY!" She didn't believe me and dismissed my aspirations.
I persisted, confident deep down that New York was where my life belonged.
Having turned my dream into reality, I sought to learn more about the religion. Drawn to Jewish life, I sensed that my life would be greatly enriched with Hashem as an integral part.
Our goal in life is to get fully in touch with this root want, to harness it, and then fully express it into the world. Happiness is not our root want, it’s what manifests when we are in touch with our root want becoming our best and highest selves.
So, close your eyes and ask yourself honestly, “What do I really want in life? Who do I want to be? What kind of life do I want to live?” Now, open your eyes, and go make that your reality.
The Kabbalists explain that ratzon, will and desire, is the most powerful force within the human being. The will has the power to control the other faculties and unleash the dormant potential. Awakening the desire to feel or to understand, will, in fact, awaken the heart and mind.
You are the sole architect of the desire to change and the next step in your life. It won't happen on its own; once you decide what your path will be, you must take action.
If it's for something greater than the physical world, if it's a spiritual journey, Hashem will be there to support and guide you.
May we all find our Want in life and be more connected to Hashem amen 🙏
Wishing you a wonderful day 💕
