Good Morning Bitachon of the day ❤️
In a journey to the self, all that we know is the starting point. Reaching the destination requires a courageous journey into the unknown. You don’t know what you’ll find, what challenges you’ll face, what people will think, or if you will even succeed. Many people refuse to step outside their comfort zone, embrace challenge, overcome their fears, and take the unpaved and uncharted path, the path toward greatness. Greatness therefore requires us to be courageous enough to journey into the unknown—to embark on the lech lecha journey (go for yourself) to our true and ultimate selves.
Since I was a teenager my dream was to come to live in NY. That’s where I had to be at all cost.
My parents experienced trauma during the takeover in Egypt and had to flee their country to begin anew, embarking on a journey into the unknown. Despite becoming very successful, they always feared not having enough money, which led them to refrain from giving me anything.
I had to work for everything, clothes, vacations, and more.
That taught me a valuable lesson; I wasn't afraid to pursue whatever I wanted. It instilled in me the belief that wherever I end up is solely because I decided to achieve it.
Lack of financial support from my parents compelled me to strive to be the best version of myself.
Whenever I chose to live somewhere else, I just went for it. At 20, in London, I had to find a job to cover my monthly rent and school expenses.
I'm determined to instill the same values in my kids. They must work and have life goals. My son Naftali has been walking dogs since he was 12. For the first three years, he woke up at 6 am to walk the dogs before getting ready for school. This year, he switched to night walking. I never imagined he would be so determined and have such a strong work ethic at such a young age. And he didn't give up; his determination to earn money is prevailing.
It's challenging in our society not to spoil our children, to keep them grounded and connected to reality.
Despite my parents going through a traumatic phase, it taught me to fend for myself. I aim to instill the same independence in my kids because I've witnessed the positive impact it had on my own life. This upbringing gave me the drive to pursue more and fearlessly achieve my goals in life.
Thankfully, now I see that all my circumstances were orchestrated by Hashem. It made me tougher, unafraid of failure. If you don't try, you'll never know if you can succeed. Reading Parasha Lech Lecha, it precisely imparts the same lesson.
May we all have the courage to face our fears, reach our destinations, and step outside our comfort zones. Amen. 🙏
Wish you all a wonderful day 💗
